Next we will quote from Stoner, some aspects that have influenced the Administration.
In 1970, the world shook with the impact of quadrupled oil prices and organizations, from General Motors to the Post Office, had to decide how to reconfigure themselves to absorb this external circumstance.
In 1980, saw the drastic change in the playing field from local to global, and strong organizations in Japan, Korea, Europe and other areas intensified their competition for markets around the world.
In 1990, the new technologies of communication and information processing, as well as geopolitical transformations revolutionized our conception of organizations. At the same time, a global concern for the natural environment was born, encouraged by environmental disasters, the discovery of a hole in the ozone layer, and increased pollution, as well as all other forms of environmental degradation.
Traditional conceptions of Administration paid little attention to the organizational or natural environment. When most of the Administration theorists such as Fayol and many more lived, the external environment of the organizations was primarily stable and static. Furthermore, the natural environment was not a cause for great concern; the citizens of the world, they supposed, the Earth's resources were inexhaustible.
Today the world is different, we have several external groups with great force and technological, political, economic and social trends can be the cause of an organization being successful or not.
